OK this is definitely my idea of a good time. An eclectic mix of style, objects, jewellery and furniture in one haphazard yet interesting way. Plus it just happens to have a cute cafe too.

I found a brass key ring here. I didn't need one (and still don't) but instantly loved it and had to have it. From what I can gather it is a pop up store and may have already moved, because it was over a month ago that I was there. The best way to keep up to date with where they are, and what they're doing is to go to their Facebook page.

WILL & WALLPAPER

I had the pleasure of meeting artist Jean-Baptiste and partner Liz Stirling at their home and studio in Paris. We sipped on tea & coffee and sampled delicious pastries, chatted about the wallpaper, life, Paris, travelling, culture, food and time just disappeared. It was a wonderful morning.

Jean-Baptiste's wallpaper is mystical, and spending time with him I became even more fascinated. It is a moment, a landscape, captured and repeated over and over. It a beautiful, light, feathery landscape full of detail and charm.

It is now possible to purchase this limited edition wall paper with the addition of your own unique moment "souvenir." Within the repeating pattern he creates personal moments for his clients. You may have a memory, a dream, vision or idea that is important or significant to you. Jean-Baptiste will ask you about it and explore it with you, and then capture this moment "souvenir" as a unique artwork, which is then inserted, once, into the wallpaper. MAGICAL!

THE WOLSELEY - Afternoon tea

If you're after the perfect mix of tradition, style and sophistication then The Wolseley is for you. We arrived for afternoon tea, and so started the procession of silver onto the table…tea pots, jugs, jam pots, cutlery, cake stands. It was old world greatness at its best. And the food? Delicious. Every mouthful definitely worth having and for us wheat sensitive types? Our own mountain of goodness that was every bit as good as the real thing.

Chatting away with my local friends I discovered that the owners of the The Wolseley were the previous owners of the Ivy Restaurant. It's an unimportant yet interesting little detail. They bought the site, previously the home of Wolseley Motors, hence the name. In 1921 it was the most prestigious car showroom in London's West End. The grand, atmospheric interior with towering pillars, arches and stairways were designed by architect William Curtis Green in 1921. In 2003 it become The Wolseley we know today, restored and renovated by David Collins Architecture.

FORTNUM AND MASON

Fortnum and Mason is a department store in Central London founded in 1707 by William Fortnum and Hugh Mason. It's reputation was built on supplying quality food, and though it's developed into a department store, it continues to focus on stocking a variety of exotic, speciality as well as basic food items. In 2013 they opened an additional store in St Pancras international station, and earlier this year the first standalone outside Britain in Dubai.  I didn't even know it existed until late this afternoon, so there goes my position as a global foodie!

It's a beautiful store full of colour, vibrance, style, sophistication and charm.

"Crafted with love - Made in Germany"

What a great concept store. They create household product branded with the letters of the alphabet (A -Z) inspired by the printing process. Their range includes books, stationery, kitchen items, throw cushions, iPhone covers and food products. This industrial linear space sits around a cafe space serving coffee and milk products (plus cake and other yummy treats). Why milk products you ask? Well historically print makers were encouraged the drink lots of milk and milk products to safe guard against the ill effects of the printing process…metal content of the inks and machinery pollutants…

A little sample for your viewing pleasure...

    AUTHOR

Thinking about all I've written and said about Jayne Reid.

I'm writing this because she's going far away,
So something profound I want to say,
So Jayne Reid if I may,
You are the only person I know, who has truly "lived her life her way."

In spite of the highest highs, and lowest lows,
Onward and forever upward she goes,
    How far nobody knows!
