I found lots of fabulous homewares in Milan, and for some reason I suddenly feel overwhelmed with my desire to share them, so I've decided to do a bit of a FOUND IN MILAN series this week.

I'd love to share the 'La Familia' series of wooden containers by Bravo. I discovered these in Milan but Bravo is actually a small company based in chile. Bravo means 'well done' in Spanish but in this instance this name has a broader meaning, and is in fact the surname of Rodrigo and Matthias; two main men behind the brand. They "seek innovation through simplicity and functionality to create objects and unique solutions…" they work with traditional local carpenters and use "the finest" raw materials.

The 'La Familia' series of containers created by Bravo, combine fine wood from patagonia and copper. They are simplistic shapes which can be combined in many ways to create useful, functional containers which are also beautiful to look at and touch. It's a modular system which has 9 basic parts that can create more than 40 different objects. Each of these have different shapes and capabilities and personality.

Yes it's fabulous isn't it! I've tried to research that for you but not got very far. The good news for you (heading back to Italy soon) is that I know for sure you can find it at La Rinascente in Milan.

Thinking about all I've written and said about Jayne Reid.

I'm writing this because she's going far away,
So something profound I want to say,
So Jayne Reid if I may,
You are the only person I know, who has truly "lived her life her way."

In spite of the highest highs, and lowest lows,
Onward and forever upward she goes,
    How far nobody knows!
