Ben Lenovitz is the man behind these blocks of art. He finds his inspiration "from museums, vacations and the subway." His drawings capture moments in time. He transfers his designs onto wood and cutting them out gives them their form. He has seven categories…text, animals, chickens, landscapes, characters, limbs, and scenes. I have two stand out favourites; chicken and limbs! That said, some of the "text" pieces are a real laugh too, check out arm hair below.
I found a large range of Ben's work at Fish Eddy a quirky homewares store in the Flatiron district. Go down and check them out. I'm wishing I bought one, I just couldn't decide which one!
